 Over the years the movement for companies to be sustainable has started to ramp up more and more. It has now become a normal business practice more so then just a movement. All the large manufacturers are saying they are trying their best to be sustainable, but are they? Champion Container not only sources sustainable materials, but also looks for new and innovative ways to help our customers be greener.

 Champion Container is proud to say we are SFI certified, which stands for Sustainable Forestry Initiative. This is a major program that tracks and ensures that the materials are sourced from proper forestry initiatives. When being a manufacturer that deals with paper and board material it is your responsibility to maintain these forests. That is why we take pride in this certification, and aim to keep it for the rest of the companies’ years. The next step in our sustainable cycle is some of the things we do in our warehouse. When we receive the board material in our plant, we start to prepare orders.  Before the machines start going though, our skilled machine operators perform a quality check. This is a control method we use to limit the amount of wasted material and ensure the order is correct. Eliminating the amount of wasted material used can help improve our carbon footprint and also save us money, so this is an important part in the process. The Corrugated then goes out to our customers where they can package their materials knowing it was sourced responsibly.

Supplying good quality packaging with the right materials is another sustainable practice Champion Container has. What good packaging can do for you is give the confidence that your product will not be damaged and returned. When your packages arrive damaged it does not only look bad on your company, but is also very wasteful and costly. The corrugated box, the tape, the label, and the void fill are all thrown away. All that damaged material is sent to a landfill and not reused. That is why getting a high-quality corrugated container and effective packaging is so important. For example, Champion Container offers both paper and poly void fill. Our partners Pregis and Ranpak both have product lines that offer these materials. Pregis has the line HC Renew and EP- Flex Elite Air Pillows, and Ranpak has PadPak. Both these void fill product lines are recyclable and sustainable. The HC renew and EP- Flex are poly options made from recycled content and can be recycled after its use. The PadPak paper is also made from recycled products and is biodegradable. These products can add a layer of sustainability to your company, and show your customers you are doing your part.
